Europe's Top Fast Food Apps on iOS in Q4 2023: A Sensor Tower Analysis

In the final quarter of 2023, Europe's fast food app landscape showcased varied user engagement across top players on the iOS platform. This Sensor Tower blog post delves into the performance metrics of the top five fast food and fast casual restaurant apps.

McDonald’s - Non-US saw its downloads fluctuate, peaking at around 223K in late November before tapering to 129K by the year's end. Weekly active users spiked impressively to over 3.8M in late November but ended the quarter with around 2.5M active users.

The performance of McDonald’s U.K. app revealed a downward trend in downloads, starting at 120K in September and closing at approximately 31K by Christmas week. Active users reached a high of around 847K in mid-November but saw a decrease to about 501K towards the end of December.

McDonald’s Germany experienced a surge in downloads in mid-November, hitting over 100K, with a general downward trend to 65K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users showed a more stable pattern, maintaining a level above 590K with a peak of over 651K in November and ending the period with around 603K active users.

Greggs maintained a steady download count in the early weeks of the quarter, with a slight decline from 77K to around 17K by the close of December. The app's weekly active users showed a gradual decline from 223K to 163K over the same period.
